SHOES ARE FILLED WITH GOODIES
AND
PETE THE CAT GETS A PASSPORT!

It was a very busy day in Mrs. Blue's First Grade Class! We got to our lockers this morning to find treats in the shoes we left out last night! We learned about that Christmas tradition in Holland on our journey "around the world"!

And then...
We had a visit from Ms. Susie (Teagan's Mom)  and Mr. Will from the Diplomatic Security Department!!  They heard that we were on our way to the North Pole and thought we needed passports to travel through all of the countries we have been visiting!  We learned that Mr. Will is a federal agent who protects important people who lead our country and who visit our country from people who might do bad things. Ms.  Susie and Mr. Will showed us how this might work by making sure that Pete the Cat got a passport, too.

First, we had to make sure that Pete's Photo ID matched  the way he really looks.

Then, we had to ask Pete a few questions like:  Do you ride the bus to school?  Do you wear shoes?  Do you wear buttons on your shirt? (We all knew the correct answers because we have read the Pete the Cat books!)

And, then an impostor showed up!  We learned that an impostor is someone who pretends to be somebody he isn't.

The impostor looked a little bit like Pete, but he didn't know the answer to any questions!  Ms. Susie gave Pete a passport.

And, Mr. Will had to arrest the impostor and take him away  in his undercover truck.

We learned how important it is to have a passport when traveling in other countries so someone always knows who we are!  Ms. Susie gave us ALL a passport!  And, we will certainly take them with us for the rest of our trip to the North Pole! (We should arrive by Friday afternoon!)

Thanks to Ms. Susie and Mr. Will for their great visit!
