FROG AND TOAD
THE MAKING OF A PUPPET PLAY

We “officially” began our work on our Frog and Toad Puppet Play this week!  These firsties are story writers, stage designers, and soon to be puppeteers! Our puppet play is tentatively set for Thursday, March 26th, at 2:00 in the Elm Creek Media Center. I will know “for sure” by the end of next week if we will be ready for this before Spring Break performance. Here are some photos of these firsties’ hard at work this week:

AND, NOAH’S MOM CAME TO READ TO US THIS WEEK!

As you can probably tell, the next few weeks will be VERY busy!  We will begin writing scripts for each Frog and Toad Puppet Play.  Your firstie does NOT need to memorize his/her part.  But, they will need to practice reading parts at home.  As the script is written, it will come home and should be practiced every night.

And, each firstie will write an “original” Frog and Toad story entitled Frog and Toad Go To School.  Help your firstie remember what he/she felt and experienced at the beginning of this year.  That will help him/her create a story with a good beginning, middle, and end.

GET READY!  Because your firsties are learning how to spend money!  The Elm Creek Mini-Market is doing very well!  And, these firsties know how to shop, staff  the cash register, and even re-stock the grocery shelves! And, they are working with numbers in so many ways - grouping, counting, number patterns!  Thank you for your attention to the Math Homework each night.  Your practice with your firstie makes a huge difference!

I am so looking forward to visiting with you at Parent Conferences.  We have so many things to celebrate and to look forward to! If you have not yet signed up for a conference time, please do so at PTCFast.com

Have a wonderful long weekend with your firsties! Spring might be on its way!!!!!!!
