It was kind of cloudy outside today, but bodies and brains of the "firsties" in Mrs. Blue's class were happy and bright!
We are adding the last component of Daily Five this week-Listen to Someone Read. It is important that emerging readers hear good readers read every day. I read three to four stories every day to the class, but it is also important for them to hear other voices. Once we all understand the procedures for Listening to Someone Read (stories on tape, IPAD, computer, or other devices) students can choose this option instead of Read to Self or Read to Someone on a particular day. We are using headphones for this component. If your child has earbuds or headphones that he/she would like to bring and leave at school for this component of Daily Five, please put in a zip-loc bag with his/her name on it.
