Monday, January 12th

Hey!  THESE "FIRSTIES"  NEED TO GET OUTSIDE!!!!!  And, I bet you agree!:)  Hopefully, we will get outside mid-week!  Students need coats, snow pants, boots, gloves, and hats!

Remember that these cold, gray, and early-dark days affect children just like they affect us. They are dragging and tired. I know that many of these extraordinary students participate in after-school activities. And, these activities are good for them and help them to become well-rounded (And, they give us some great things to talk about!). The Home Learning Experiences are designed so that your "firstie" should not have to spend more than 15-20 minutes every night.

We have been reading about animals that go to sleep for the winter.

Other animals gather and store food for the winter.  Some, like geese, just leave.  So...

We can't just leave!:) We should eat healthy/hearty meals (and snacks!) to provide our bodies with the fuel they need! And, like some of our animal friends:  Good/long sleep = good, productive learning. Remind your "firstie" go to bed early!  He/She will feel better in the morning! Thanks for your help!

In February, we will begin Science Fridays!  2:15-3:00!  If you would like to join/help us, please let me know (And, make sure you have completed a Volunteer Form!)

WOW!  THESE 'FIRSTIES" ARE TALLER AND SMARTER!!!!
