Role Models at Work
If you thought you had to be an
adult sports hero or entertainment idol to be a role model…think again! Tyler, an exceptional fourth grader at Elm
Creek, visited our first grade class this morning to talk about the benefits of
being active. And, we were all thinking that we wanted to be just like him when
we were in 4th grade!
Tyler did an
amazing job explaining to our first graders how they could/should become more
physically active and how to record their achievements. Students will receive a FuelUp Play 60
Calendar that provides a place to record their physical activity.
Look for more
details next week! And, join us in our commitment to be physically active and
fit!
As we continue our
conversations about Family, Foods, and Traditions, we will move into the
Thanksgiving week celebrating those things that families do together and for
each other. We will share some Native American stories while exploring the
wonder of the First Thanksgiving. Thank
you for the conversations you are having with your “firsties” about traditions and
things that are important to you and your family. We will continue to document
and record these wonderful experiences through the eyes of first graders during
the next few weeks.
Because of the
short week, we will not have any Home Learning Experiences. We will continue
our work with this week’s Word Work List. And, we will talk, read, and write
about what “thankful” means and how to express it to others.
And…we will cook Vegetable
Soup together on Tuesday!
