Friday, November 7th

So….it is official!  No two families are alike!

Thank you for the wonderful conversations you have had with your first graders about family and the things you like to do together. Your first graders are doing some beautiful reflections and writing about the things they love about their families. (I will keep them with me for sharing for the next few weeks and then send these writings home. You will treasure them!:)

Next week, we will focus on “Food” and “Families”.  Be thinking about that very special meal and/or recipe that you share with your family.  It could be a weekly tradition like the Friday tradition that Mr. Blue and I share:  Burgers on the Grill!  (Rain, Snow, doesn’t matter!) Or it could be a recipe for a pie or a salad, or a dip. Our Reading/Language focus will be:  “How To”- steps and sequence.  Look for a Home Learning Experience next week related to food!

We will continue exploring Math Fact Families and Word Families.

I would like to thank you again for the time you will spend with your first grader having rich conversations about family traditions and celebrations.  There will be several Home Learning Experiences during the next few weeks that will focus on these ideas and concepts.
