OUR MAP IS FINISHED!!!!!!

AND, IT IS MUCH MORE FUN WHEN STORIES ARE BEING ACTED OUT ON OUR MAP!

You might even find a few artifacts from our map in your firstie’s backpack!!!

The last map we will create is a “Map of My Heart”.  We will talk about the people we love and care for, the things we love to see, hear, eat, and do.  Look for your firsties’ maps to come home next week.  There are Treasure Maps, Maps of My Day, Story Maps, Calendars (A Map of the Year), A Map of My Life, and more. We have had such rich conversations about maps and how they help us find our place and space.

The Greeting Card Company is OPEN and BUSY!  Don’t forget to send names and addresses for three family members/friends to whom your firstie would like to send Valentine Cards.  We will mail them on Wednesday, February 11th. (Please send three stamps as well!)

And, I had so much fun watching our firsties in Phy Ed performing a dance telling the story of Hansel and Gretel.

MONEY! MONEY! MONEY!

Now that we have a good understanding of how numbers are grouped, it is time to start learning how to count (and spend:) money! We will continue to work on the visual models of addition/subtraction problems with totals to 20 as well.

It has been a great week! And we can't wait until next week!
