IT'S NOT MAGIC! IT'S MATH!

Wow!  These firsties are doing such a wonderful job! They are  connecting math models and illustrations to number stories and finding solutions to problems!  Thank you for helping them at home with the Home Learning Experiences every week. I can see that they are practicing at home. This makes it so much easier and more fun when we get to apply those math ideas and concepts to some real-life situations.

Here are some photos of our firsties playing a game today in math. The rules were:

Roll the dice.  Color in your number on the tens/ones board. Record numbers and every group of 10. The person who makes it to 100 wins!  Well, we didn't quite make it to 100 (One group made it!), but this is a game, another way to practice! Ask them about it!  It is so good for them to talk about their math ideas and practices. 

 

And, thank you for sending addresses and stamps!  The Greeting Card Company has been so busy! Valentine Cards will go out tomorrow!
